Classification on
Strength |
| |
Sarvasara Trees |
| |
Trees that have both the inner region and the
outer covering strong
Eg: thekku |
| |
| |
Anthasara Trees |
| |
Trees that have strength in their inner region
Eg: plavu |
| |
| |
Bahissara Trees |
| |
Trees which have strength only on their outer
covering
Eg: thengu |
| |
| |
Nissara Trees |
| |
Trees that do not have strength both in their

Selection of Timber |
| |
As per vastu sastra, only sarvasara trees
should be used on the outer walls of buildings. Anthasara trees
could be used inside the buildings. Both bahissara and nissara
trees are not commonly used for construction. The anthasara,
sarvasara trees also should be selectively taken scientifically
for construction purposes. Vastu sastra strictly refers to the
types of trees that should not be used for construction: |
| |
| |
► |
Those haven’t
reached full growth |
► |
The one which had
sun strokes |
► |
The buried ones |
► |
Trees fallen by
elephants |
► |
Timber which have
holes in it |
► |
Trees struck by
lightning |
| |
For the manufacture of pillars in timber, it is
necessary to know the real upper and the lower part of the tree.
The strength and the carrying capacity increase if the real upper
part comes at top and lower part comes at bottom. |
